When Little Ones Teach Larger Than Life Lessons…

I was walking down Bunglow Road (near North Delhi Campus), when someone tugged at my shirt from behind. A little taken aback, I turned to find a six or seven year old in red, asking not for alms or food but books! Yes books and that touched something deep within me. Before I could respond, there was a whole bunch of them, all wanting the same-BOOKS! How could I not give in to their innocent demand? Together, we looked for a book store at bunglow road and trust me it was so much fun helping them choose books of their choice. To double up the fun, I laid a condition-they could own any book if they would read out a page from it. Wish I could capture the gleam of achievement in their eyes, at the end of every successful narration. My daughter, Gazal was also with me and we spent good one hour browsing through and bonding over books-giggling, laughing, enjoying…the simple pleasures of life!

Happiness beyond words on helping each one choose a book that he could read and understand.

Don’t know if it was me who could lighten their world for a while or them who brightened my world with their 1000 watts smile and endless thank yous’

The most endearing of them all-the Initiator!!
Can never forget his words laced with such wisdom for his age, "Didi, copy pencil ka kya karenge. Kitaben le do. Likhne se pehle toh padna zyada zaroori hai na!"
(What are we going to do with notebook and pencils? Buy us books instead. You got to know how to read, before you can write!)
