My son was to leave for his hostel, so to pep up our moods, we decided to have lunch at Cyber Hub. After much discussion, we zeroed on Farzi Cafe & I must say there was nothing FARZI (fake) about the gastronomical saga that demands to be sung to the adventurous foodies !!

Decor : Put together an Italian Bistro, a French Brasserie, a Greek Tavern & a Spanish Tapas Bar with high tech music & quaint object d'art adorning the walls- that's Farzi Cafe for you!

Menu : Makes for an interesting read replete with captivating descriptions & vivid illustrations with names to scintillate ur taste buds to the right degree of confusion (as to what to choose).

To begin with comes a shot of tiny sphere of mishti doi dotted with a speck of red on a chillingly steaming platter that just explodes in your mouth with promise of things yet to come.

There are dishes such as Dal Chawal Arancini served with rolled-up papad on a bed of onion chutney in an entirely Sicilian presentation but a flavour that is the pure north Indian comfort food of dal, chawal and achar. Then there’s the cutest ever Raj Kachoris served upside down with tamarind foam sitting atop and thinly sliced crisp okras fried to perfection on the side!

There after arrived another palate cleanser-frozen orange yogurt popsicle, very innovatively served enclosed in a chilled book-box.

My son had ordered some wasabi flavoured chicken as a starter & a burger in the mains but being a hard core vegetarian, am not an authority to comment on any of his dishes.
As for myself, I stuck to our conventional paneer tikka with lachchha parantha for mains but here too the twist was in the gravy-velvety soft, brewing with authentic Italian flavours yet very much Indian at heart, it just melted in my mouth and took my heart away .

For my son, no meal is complete without the desert so Phirni Oxide it was & voila! It comes complete with a table-side ritual involving liquid nitrogen, hammers, rabri, batasha and a whole lot of smoke but again tastes like the management have a dynastic sweetmaker from Purani Dilli in the kitchen.

Wait! The molecular gastronomical affair was yet not over! Neatly resting on a platter came the lightest & whitest of ghujiyas that transported me back to my childhood to good ole buddi mai ke baal waale days! Lo & behold, withheld within was dry paan, so flavourful that the freshness literally exploded in my mouth.

Looking forward to my next visit with my entire family !!
