Let Go…

It often gets difficult to fathom or explain why some people leave from our life just as suddenly as they'd walked in. But this beautiful analogy by @tylerperry put all of our lives' experiences into perspective.

Every day I open my eyes
To a lush green canopy
A beckoning sight to wake up to
Thousands of leaves greeting me gaily

Oft’ time I draw parallel
Between our lives and the trees
Ponder over Tyler’s analogy
Why people we’ve been close to, snap off so abruptly?

There’s a reason we cross each other’s path
Serve our purpose and then part ways
Not everyone we meet is meant to stay till the end
But there are a few, who will never let go of our hand

My gaze again shifts
To the Mango tree
The rustling autumn leaves
One by one trying to break free

The morning breeze
Turns to a strong gale
Swaying the branches to either side
A few weak ones start to snap away

We are not the ones to decide
Who will be a root, a branch, or a leaf in our lives
Will be among the first ones to break apart
Or keep us rooted, braving a storm when we put up a fight

People are just who they are
Not overly good, nor extremely bad
Sometimes it’s just not meant to be
It’s for us to discern in time and
Let Go of it, gracefully…
