NAVRATRI
Time To Connect With The Inner Primordial Cosmic Energy
The All-Pervading Devi
To those who identify as women and/or embrace their feminine selves, I honor the goddess within you.
I honor the multitudes that you hold within you, the beauty of your grace, and your rage. (when need be)
I honor the labor you offer through creation and expression.
I honor your courage when speaking the truth, and your wisdom when choosing to be silent.
I honor the space you make for struggle and rest, for visibility and inward reflection.
The Devi is expansive as are you.
One of the great questions that both men and women are beginning to explore more deeply is the issue of what constitutes true feminine power.
Contrary to popular belief, the Divine Feminine energy isn’t limited only to females. It is an energy that we all possess, no matter where we are on the gender spectrum (or lack thereof).
The yogic sages—especially in the branch of yoga called Tantra, understood quantum physics and pointed out that subtle vibratory energy is the substratum of everything we know. Unlike physicists, however, yogic seers experienced this energy not simply as an abstract vibration, but as the expression of the divine feminine power, called Shakti.
The word shakti literally means power. Shakti the innate power, in reality, has five faces. It manifests as —
the power to be conscious, the power to feel ecstasy, the power of will, or desire, the power to know, and the power to act.
In creation, Devi/Shakti abides in all beings in the form of Cosmic Consciousness. She pervades all beings in form of Intelligence, Kindness, and Contentment. The energy of the feminine embodies the nurturer, the healer, and the compassionate peacemaker. Our worship of the Nav Durga underlines our need to invoke our feminine consciousness that lies dormant, in the action-oriented world.
Navratri is a beautiful time to awaken Shakti or cosmic feminine energy. Connecting to the divine feminine is all about slowing down and being rather than doing. The ultimate way to embrace the divine feminine is to practice self-love. And that means loving ourselves as we are, not as we think you should be.
In a masculine-energy-dominated world, there’s a strong need for us to connect with our feminine side on a regular basis. Only if we make efforts to awaken the inner primordial cosmic energy, the all-pervading Devi, will we be able to comprehend the profound spiritual significance of Navratri.
